Octopus Garden

Hey everyone,

Back with another blog today and its another sushi place! By now, you all probably know i have a thing or two for sushi places. This restaurant is located near kits beach and it's right on Cornwall. There's free parking around the area, mostly residential parking. They also have meter parking right in front of the restaurant.

Their door handles are really cute. It's all wood and its shaped like a bottle.

Chewies

Hi everyone!

The other day I went to Downtown to check out the new Nordstrom. With their massive 3 level retail space it made me extremely hungry after shopping around. We decided to leave Downtown and head to a restaurant located in Kits, called Chewies. I've never been to Chewies before so I didn't know what to expect but I heard from my friend that they serve amazing deep fried chicken. This restaurants menu is based on New Orleans inspired dishes that serves local seafood and Creole & Cajun dishes.

I tried to take some interior images but considering it was dinner time & they didn't have much bright interior lighting, it was very difficult to capture how the interior space looked like.
Their restaurant is split into two sections. The entrance level had several high top seatings and a open kitchen area. Two stair steps up, you reach the second section where the bar is located. They had multiple side seatings along the window side and they also had tables near the inner corner.

Parking could be a pain in the ass, so I recommend car pooling with your buddies. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot one block down. Majority of the paring spots are pay parking unless you are lucky enough to find the 2 hour max free parking, so be prepared bring some coins with you or have the PaybyPhone App ready.

Waffle Gone Wild

Hey everyone!

The weather in Vancouver has been extremely gorgeous lately and so the other day me & my friend decided to go down to Kits for a haircut, but we had a bit of time before our appointment therefore we decided to try out a restaurant nearby. OH! and one more thing before I start talking about food! I also bought myself my own little sunflower plant :) Sunflowers are by far my fave flower and I just had to bring one home to brighten up my space for the summer!

Now lets talk about WAFFLES! We ended up going to a small little restaurant called Waffle Gone Wild. They were originally Japanese owned but now has been sold to a new owner. Either way the food is still the same and I was really pleased with my breakfast order.

Spoon Kitchen

Hey everyone!!!

Back with another blogpost on this Thai & Malaysian restaurant located on West 4th. I've been here once before with Phil, also with a voucher deal. This time around, I got the 4 person voucher deal for me & my family. I highly recommend getting the voucher deal because it is definitely worth trying.

Here is the link to the voucher incase you are interested:

I forgot what the drinks are called but it was their non-alcoholic exotic fruit drinks. I believe it consists of mangos, pineapples, etc. Just look at their drink menu and you'll find it!

Benjarong Thai Cuisine

Hello everyone!

I'm always on the lookout for good deals online, such as Groupon, Socialshopper, etc. I love eating so if I can save a few bucks through vouchers, I WILL! I found this voucher for Benjarong on Socialshopper a few months ago and I've finally used it last night. I had tried several attempts to call this place to book a table before but its either they never pick up or they are not open. Thank goodness, I finally got a hold of them a few days ago and was able to book a table for last night. Unfortunately, their vouchers are no longer available on Socialshopper. The voucher was $12.50 for $25.00 bucks worth.

This restaurant is located right next to BC Sushi. I've passed by this place many times whenever I go to BC Sushi but it never appealed to me esthetically. The interior is very old fashioned, yet it gives off a very comforting, charming feel to it. The overall colors definitely screams Thai, with the yellow walls & red ceilings.

For drinks, I ordered the Thai Ice Tea with Milk ($2.50) (on the left) & Phil ordered the Thai Ice Coffee without milk ($2.50) (on the right).

I was kind of skeptical about my drink when it showed up as pink. On my first sip, it was a very familiar taste but I couldn't put my finger on it until Phil tried it and totally brought up the item that it reminded me of. If you are Chinese, you may know during Chinese new year, we receive red pockets and for candies, there is ALWAYS that red packaged candy that is white. The drink literally tastes like that candy. The first few sips were fine, but it got way too sweet for my liking.

As for Phils ice coffee, we both LOVED IT. Even without milk, it already had a hint of sweetness and there was literally no need for milk.

Rajio-Japanese Public House

Hi everyone!

I'm finally back with a new blog post! I've been busy with work & I'm currently setting up a new website look for my blog! So, stay tune for that!! Hopefully it will be fully up and running by the end of June 2013!

Now...who doesn't like Jap food? If you don't, I suggest you click away from this page!

This little restaurant is located in Kits and parking is extremely tough because it is mainly all street parking. limmerZ and I met up with eatingwithkirby & foodobyte and it was extremely fun. When we stepped into the restaurant, one side of the wall was filled with Japanese anime masks. The masks were illuminated & I thought it was extremely adorable. The one character that I loved since I was a kid was DINGDONG!! People call it Doraemon nowadays... but I call it dingdong! Anyways, time to talk about food!
Scroll down...!! :)
