Hey everyone!
This years Summer trend has been rotating all around ice cream. New ice cream vendors are popping up all over the grounds of Vancouver. Even though Summer has ended and Fall is coming, it doesn't stop us Vancouverites from eating our favorite cold dessert. One of the latest additions to the Ice Cream list is UYU Ice Cream shop located in Gastown. Their interior has a very interesting pattern that repeats throughout the store but they kept everything else very minimalist, so it still feels very clean & chic.

Chill Winston
Hey everyone!
Last week I went to Downtown with my friend, Ali. Our main mission of the day was to go explore Downtown and check out the Map wall art at the Shangrila Hotel. But before exploring, obviously we have to go fill up our bellies first. We had several options on our list so we went with the one we favored most. But the top 3 options were COMPLETELY packed full of people by the time we got there. Each place notified us that it'll be around 45 minutes to 2 hour wait. WHAT???
So we ended up strolling among Gastown area and came across Chill Winston. Chill Winston has been on "My List" for a while but never got a chance to try it! All the tables were filled up outside so we were very scared the wait would be ridiculous. We took a chance and stepped up to ask anyways. We were surprisingly shocked that they had plenty of table indoors. It was a super gorgeous day so sitting outside would be the ideal seating BUT by that time me & Ali got there we were starving already therefore we were completely satisfied with an indoor seating.
The interior space looked amazing! Super luxurious but still have a sense of the whole Gastown characteristic. Gastown is all about the brick, so obviously in their interior they had brick walls. They had really comfortable padded seatings and the light fixtures were very unique. Overall, I was just amazed at the interior design and it was definitely a comfortable atmosphere to just relax and chit chat.

Flying Pig in Gastown
Hey everyone!
After a long day of work, me & my co-workers decided to head down to Gastown to get some food to release some stress. We were planning to try out "Ask for Luigi" but it was over an hour wait, therefore our second choice was "The Flying Pig" in Gastown. I've never been to the Gastown location before and I absolutely love this location way more than the one in Yaletown. This location is bigger in space, a two floor dining restaurant and its a corner location with high length windows allowing lots of natural lighting in to the space.

Soft Peaks Ice Cream
Hello everyone!
We are officially back from our trip from Dominican Republic and we are more than happy to come back to beautiful BC. I will soon post a blog regarding our trip and our thoughts on the food there, so stay tuned!
Yesterday I finally got to try out Soft Peaks Ice Cream in Gastown. Its a two level story ice cream store. I don't know full details about their ice cream but on the walls inside it does indicate they are handmade, gluten free & 100% natural. The interior is very simple, they have a full wallpaper of simple milk bottles & ice cream cones along the side of the staircase, which I thought was cute.

Dineout 2015- Chambar Restaurant
Hello everyone!
This month was our 4th year anniversary, so we decided to treat ourselves to some amazing food! We heard many great things about Chambar and since they were also doing Dineout, might as well take this opportunity to try it!
Dineout is still on until February 1st, so if you want to check out the Chambar dineout menu check out the link: http://www.dineoutvancouver.com/listings/Chambar-Restaurant/19526/0/#dineoutdinnermenu
They serve the $38.00 menu, which comes with appetizer, main course & dessert (just like all other dineout options).
So for appetizer, I ordered the Soupe De Canard: Cauliflower soup, barbequed duck, cilantro pistou, & toasted almonds.
The soup is a thick cream consistency and has some amazing flavor. I really like the addition of the cilantro pistou which gives the soup an extra kick of flavor. The duck was cooked very well and the amount given was surprisingly filling.

Phil ordered the Coquilles St. Jacques A La "Bob": Pan seared scallops, mint pea puree, tandoori papadum & pickled grapes. He thought everything paired very well with the scallops but thought the portion was too minimal. But overall an amazing appetizer.

Catch 122 Cafe Bistro
Hello everyone!!
Long awaited blog on Catch 122, one of the finest brunches I've been to and with incredible pricing! Located in Gastown, right across from London Drugs. Two options for transportation, either drive down and pay for street parking or take the skytrain. The interior design of the place is right up my alley. I love the whole rustic look from the brick interior walls and the wooden tables. Our waiter was amazing, always there when we needed his help and provided excellent customer service. If you are planning to instagram your foodie pics from this place, you can also tag them @catch122. Kinda helping them advertise in a way but they actually look at your food photos and like them!
