Prince Seafood Restaurant

Hey Everyone,

Not too long ago I had dimsum with Jess and her family at Prince! I've been here previously for dinner but never for dimsum, so I was curious to see how it was.

We had quite a few items but I'll feature a few select items here.

We had the Steamed Spareribs which were not bad here. I don't usually go for this dish but I was hungry so I had some. I found them to be mediocre, but not special in any way, and to be honest, Jess' mom makes them better!

We also had some Shrimp Rice Rolls with Veggies. This was unique to me, as there are normally no veggies in these rice rolls, and it's just straight meat, whether it be beef, pork, shrimp, or whatever other variety they have. It was pretty good with the greens, and made this dish quite balanced in my opinion. I wouldn't mind having veggies added to the other rice roll varieties either!

This noodle was pretty good, but I forget the name of it! It was one of the rice noodles and it had some pretty good flavour to it. Looks nice in the picture too!

Now this might have been their Deep Fried Tofu & Shrimp Balls $19.80, but I could be wrong, as it is only a small portion and there's no way this costs $19.80! If anyone knows the name to this, please let us know in the comments below! It was very delicious as it was a ball of shrimp on top of deep fried tofu, covered in sweet and sour sauce. This was a very nice dish and I would definitely order this again.

Of course when having dimsum, you gotta have Ha Gao (Shrimp Dumpling)! They make it pretty good here as there were actual shrimp pieces here, unlike SunSuiWah who uses shrimp paste! Nothing more to say about this dish other than you can never go wrong with Ha Gao!

This was a pretty good dish of Fried Rice Noodle w/ Sliced Beef & Gai Lan in Satay Sauce $14.80. It had awesome flavour and it was very enjoyable! The beef slices were nice and tender and the rice noodles were moist and flavoured throughout from the satay sauce, which was not very spicy so it was very tolerable for me.

For dessert, we had some nice oval shaped Egg Tarts! These were made fresh in-house and they were absolutely AMAZING! I love egg tarts and even though I usually prefer the cookie crust over the flaky crust, this one was just so delicious, that I almost ended up eating all 3 of them! The flaky crust was crisp but flaky, and the egg filling was warm and moist, just the way it should be! Definitely a must try dish!

The service here was pretty good as it was one of the higher end Chinese restaurants in Vancouver. That being said, we didn't really get exceptional service so it wasn't anything to rave about. Just generally good service.

Overall this restaurant is a great destination for dimsum. They have plenty of options, a clean environment, pretty good location with a small parking lot but ample street parking, and the food quality is pretty good overall. It gets quite busy so arriving early is key! I would definitely come back here for dimsum and would recommend everyone to try this out if you're tired of the usual dimsum places you've been going to.

  1. It sounds like you had a positive experience at this restaurant. I would order the steamed spareribs or rice noodles as my meal. I am usually not a fan of eggs, but the egg tarts look so delicious. You were very fair with your review and ratings for this restaurant, and now you have another spot to visit for dimsum.
