L'Opera Patisserie
Hey everyone!
Last weekend my friend and I decided to try out L'Opera Patisserie High Tea. I've heard mixed reviews about this place so I really didn't know what to expect here. Their location is part of the Marriot hotel and is across from Mui Garden in Richmond. They have parking in the back, so take a look there before you drive up to the parkade. My friend and I didn't know so we drove up the parkade and parked relatively far. We had to cut through the hotel in order to exit out in to the main road until we reached their little cafe. Also, the parkade is not free... so I think we paid like 6 dollars for 2 hour parking. Their interior is extremely small. The tables were pretty close to one another and walking space is very limited. Nonetheless, the interior decor is extremely cute. Tmix Tea & Dessert Bar
Hey everyone!
If you read my previous blog, you know I went to Pronto before heading to Vegas. We actually went for dessert that day too. Across the street there's a dessert bar called "TMix Tea & Dessert Bar".
The interior looks very clean, bright and nice. We really like how well lit the place was, makes it very awakening and comfortable. The tree pattern on their wall matches with their color theme and it looks very nice. They have a huge selection in terms of desserts. From drinks to bubble waffle to macarons.

The Bubble Tea Shop - Downtown
Hey everyone!
The other day I went to the new Bubble Tea Shop in Downtown. Surprisingly, I've never been to the Richmond location so I was super excited to try out their bubble waffles! I've seen many photos on social media and a bunch of other foodies talking about it, so I wanted to know what this place is all about! This location is located on Robson, near all the Korean bars. The exact location is 1680 Robson Street. Recommend car pooling with friends if you are planning to come here OR transit (but the walk is a bit far from skytrain, unless you bus down).
The interior is very small and petite but still have enough tables to sit a few large groups. Surprisingly when we got there around 9-10pm, it was not full. They make great use of the space but seat between seat may be a bit tight. Also, they have racks above the inner seats to make up as storage space for their cups BUT it actually fell down randomly, so just beware if you end up sitting under those cups.
Their menu is located on the tv located on the wall. Also, there is other options of different items that are not listed on their menu on the screen. They taped it all around their cashier area! So if you don't see anything you want on the main menu, check out the other ones they have listed around their cashier desk.

Fondway Cafe
Hey everyone!
Before Christmas hit, a new Burnaby Taiwanese style cafe opened up across from Metrotown. This is no ordinary Taiwanese cafe because you're probably thinking "bubble tea & popcorn chicken". This is a legit cafe that serves, tea, coffee, sandwiches, waffles, etc. We were invited by Fondway Cafe & Chobee PR to their food media launch event and we were extremely excited to be able to attend. The whole restaurant was closed for this special media event so we had the whole place to check out and try their food & drinks.
When you first enter, on the right hand side, there is a whole wall filled with different types of tea. In front of each tea can, they include a description & price per grams. We were able to try out a few drinks they prepared for us and all of them were extremely delicious. When you smell the flavor, it smells very strong BUT the taste of the tea is very subtle.

Mango Yummy
Hey Everyone,
Since Jess and I almost never have the appetite for dessert after our dinners, we thought it would be a good idea to have dessert during the day instead, before we stuff ourselves at dinner!
We had heard of Mango Yummy before and I've even tried their mochi already when Jess' mom brought back some for us when she went there. That mochi was pretty good so we always wanted to give this place a visit.
They are part of a strip mall across from Richmond Centre so they have their own parking lot in front, which is shared with the strip mall.
Inside, seating is limited, but luckily we were able to get a table just as a group was leaving. You order from the counter and pick it up there as well.
There were so many choices to pick from, but we settled on their Signature Mango Shaved Ice $7.

Earnest Ice Cream
Hey everyone,
So I know Winter is here and talking about Ice cream might be out of season right now but who cares what season it is, everyone eats ice cream almost ALL the time throughout the year. My first time eating Earnest Ice Cream was at Granville Island, when I stepped foot in to Edible Canada and bought myself my very own salted caramel pint. When i had my first bite then, I already knew it was absolutely my fave ice cream ever. I've tried multiple places in the flavor of salted caramel, but I've narrowed it down and Earnest Ice Cream is still my favorite.
During the Summer, Phil & I actually visited Earnest Ice Creams store along Quebec Street. I've been so caught up in "stuff" that blogging about this place totally slipped out of my mind until... now ;P If you know me personally, you would know my absolutely favorite finishes/materials for interior/exteriors are brick, wood, marble. I love how this place has almost ALL of that. The whole exterior is made out of brick and I love how their signage and doors are a much more modern style and I actually really like the mixture of modern with vintage personality.

720 Sweets
Hey everyone!
New addition to the soft serve category, 720 Sweets has been all over social media lately. Everyone talks about the beautiful presentation and obviously the flavours.
When you first step in, it's a very narrow, linear type of shop. Not meant for ALOT of people, but if you go during prime dessert times, you'll find this place packed full of people. My friend and I went there super early so we basically had the whole place to ourselves. Watch us on Youtube, HERE.
There's free parking around the residential areas, which is only a block or 2 away from 720 Sweets.
Great saying on the wall which everyone would be able to relate !

UYU Ice Cream
Hey everyone!
This years Summer trend has been rotating all around ice cream. New ice cream vendors are popping up all over the grounds of Vancouver. Even though Summer has ended and Fall is coming, it doesn't stop us Vancouverites from eating our favorite cold dessert. One of the latest additions to the Ice Cream list is UYU Ice Cream shop located in Gastown. Their interior has a very interesting pattern that repeats throughout the store but they kept everything else very minimalist, so it still feels very clean & chic.

Rocky Point Ice Cream
Hey everyone!
From our last blog post I talked about the Food Cart Festival that happens every Sunday throughout the duration of Summer. Today I'll be talking about another Food Truck Vendor that I stumbled upon last Sunday during our Cherry On Top event hosted by East Side Flea.
There were A LOT of dessert options at the festival, but I finalized my decision on Rocky Point Ice Cream. They had a lot of variety in terms of flavours. I was really tempted to just get my usual Salted Caramel Ice cream but there were several people in front of me and they got the Raspberry Lime Mojito Sorbet and it looked too good to pass up.
I got the kid size ($3.00) and it was the perfect size for me since I had a huge sandwich by The Tasty Torpedo shared between me & Phil.
The flavour is very unique and has a sweet and sour taste to it. At first it tasted great but near the mid section it got a bit too sour for me to continue. I think the lime flavour was a tad strong but overall it was still a unique flavour and it was still worth a try.
I will definitely give this place a try again because I don't want to just rate this place based on ONE ice cream flavour. Overall this place is a good place to visit for a summer treat!

Cafe Joie
Hey everyone!
The other day I took a break from work and school and just ventured off with an old friend searching for new places to try and did some massive saving for my wallet because I found 2 amazing jackets from the vintage store.
Cafe Joie is a super cute cafe located right across from Metrotown. Because the store location is at the corner of a hill, it is very easy to pass by and not notice its existence. I find a lot of coffee shops nowadays have the same interior vibe. The type that I really like, rustic meet modern.
This place serves waffles, panini's, coffee buns, coffee, & tons of macarons! It wasn't difficult for me to choose because I already saw photos on Zomato previously and I knew automatically I'll be trying out their waffles.

B&P Ice Cream
Hey everyone!
Since the summer days have been so amazing this year, I've been hitting up Steveston Village a lot because they have great patio restaurants and it's just a great place to stroll around.
I've passed by B&P Ice Cream multiple times because I usually grab mini donuts from their neighbors, Outpost Mini Donuts. I never took the time to look into their ice cream options because their exterior didn't look that appealing and their cute octopus logo just gave me a very asian vibe so I just assumed it can't be anything special. Anyways, this time around we decided to just take a peek of their ice cream options on their posted boards and we were pretty shocked that they had quite a variety for flavours. Because of their massive board of options, we decided to give their ice cream a try.

Rain or Shine Ice Cream
Hello everyone!
I have a few places to blog about this week but I decided to start off this gloomy Tuesday on a happier note...ICE CREAM! I think the name of this ice cream shop is very true, I don't care whether its raining or snowing or hailing, I will still crave for ice-cream!
For some heck of a reason, last week was blazing with sun and it was AWESOME. Despite the fact I had to move, work, and go to school, the sun definitely made my week more enjoyable than it actually was. During my lunch hour away from work, my friends and I decided to drive down on Cambie and grab ice-cream from Rain Or Shine.
Just like the photo below indicates, they make the ice cream fresh, natural & with local whole ingredients. Since I have my own gift company-Cherry On Top Designs based on local products, I know for a fact that they use Vancouver Olive Oil Company's Balsamic Vinegar to make their blueberry balsamic ice cream and it tastes great and definitely unique!
They have a big selection of ice cream to choose from but I ended up ordering my usual favorites, Salted Caramel & London Fog. (Two flavors $5.00)
Its rich, simple & creamy! No complaints for a fine cup of ice cream on a sunny day :)

Suika
Hello everyone!
The other day it was my friends birthday so we decided to go to Suika on Broadway. I've never been to this place before but my friend told me it is absolutely amazing. I had really high expectations for this place and was super stoked to finally get to try this place out.
Since it's located on Broadway, majority of the parking spots are meter parking. We were able to find a spot on one of the closer side streets and paid approx. $3-$4 in parking for two hours.
The exterior of the building was rather simple and didn't really stand out much. The interior on the other hand was pretty unique. It definitely gave a Japanese vibe once you walk in. When you walk in you see a traditional wooden cabinet which acts as a reception desk. They also had a very cool light fixture in the centre of the dining area. It was made out of Japanese looking bottles. I thought it was a very cool idea and definitely gave the place character.
When I sat down, I noticed that their logo was a watermelon. That moment I knew Suika was to represent watermelon. I thought it was such a cute logo and I loved how our napkins, cups & cup coasters had a watermelon on it.
They have a crazy list of cocktails on their menu. The one that stood out to me was their Suika Mojito (aka. watermelon mojito) $8.50. I will definitely bring Phil back here because he LOVES watermelon and he LOVES mojitos. So the two combined would be the ideal combination for him.
Two of my friends ordered the Boston Mojito (aka. fresh ginger mojito) $8.00. Ginger is freshly made in house and the flavor was definitely unique. My friends really liked the freshness of the ginger taste. My other friend ordered the Fresh Lychee Gray (soho, fresh grapefruit & sugar rim) $7.50. I tried it after taking a sip of my watermelon mojito and I think that's why I think her drink was rather sour because my drink is extremely sweet. Everybody thought her drink tasted great and would highly recommend it as well.
Overall all the drinks we ordered were fantastic and would highly recommend just trying whichever one fits your taste! They have a wide range of different flavours in cocktails and that's what I love about this place!

Soft Peaks Ice Cream
Hello everyone!
We are officially back from our trip from Dominican Republic and we are more than happy to come back to beautiful BC. I will soon post a blog regarding our trip and our thoughts on the food there, so stay tuned!
Yesterday I finally got to try out Soft Peaks Ice Cream in Gastown. Its a two level story ice cream store. I don't know full details about their ice cream but on the walls inside it does indicate they are handmade, gluten free & 100% natural. The interior is very simple, they have a full wallpaper of simple milk bottles & ice cream cones along the side of the staircase, which I thought was cute.

Hey everyone!
After a wonderful dinner with friends, we where thinking of a dessert restaurant to just chill and chit chat. My friend Suggested PappaRoti in Downtown. I've never heard of this place before but Apparently it's really popular. I've skimmed-through several blogs on the way there and Apparently They first started in Asia and finally expanded to North America. Some people say it's a lot cheaper in Asia. I do not know the background history of this restaurant but I'll just review about my first time experience.
When you first step in, They Have ceilings exposed at the front of the restaurant and at the bar there is a drop down ceiling with recessed lights. They had a lot of wood features,: such as the counter Where They Have wood paneling along the front. They Also use wooden tables along the restaurant with different looking chairs. Overall the space Gave me a very comfortable, warm feeling. The circulation path to order is on the edge near the windows and I thought it was rather tight for people to line up Because there was people passing by to enter the back of the restaurant Where seats are located.
If you did not order a drink, They Provide cups and water along the front of the counter. They cucumbers and lime added in to the water. I thought the cucumber soaked in the water for too long and the flavor was way too much for my liking. Phil on the other hand thought the water was very refreshing and enjoyed it a lot.
For drinks, I ordered an Americano (approx. $ 3.00).

I thought the cucumber soaked in the water for too long and the flavor was way too much for my liking. Phil on the other hand thought the water was very refreshing and enjoyed it a lot.
For drinks, I ordered an Americano (approx. $ 3.00).

We were thinking of where to eat for dinner before heading to a movie, and we thought of this restaurant that was recommended to us by a friend who had dined here recently. Since I had to go NCIX at Aberdeen anyways, dining here made perfect sense!
