So Jess told me about a new pizza place that opened up at the new Aberdeen side, and given that there is hardly anything open yet on the new side, and I love pizza, we had to try this out!

So I've heard that Uncle Fatih's is supposed to have pretty good pizza, but I never got around to trying it until recently. Jess and I were going to a Canucks game so we thought we'd grab some food before going in. 

California Pizza Kitchen

The last place we tried in Vegas was at the California Pizza Kitchen which was located in the airport. There were only a few options for food there so we decided to try this place out. They had other food other than pizza, but we decided to try their pizza since that is part of their restaurant title. They have the menu posted in front of the restaurant, so if you are not sure if you'll like the food options, you can always take a glance at what type of food they have first.

So before we headed out to Vegas, we went to Pronto with a great friend of ours. Its located along Cambie and between 18th & 19th Avenue. Try finding parking at the back of the restaurant. They had a few along the alley way that was free parking after 6pm. 

When we stepped into the restaurant, we waited approximately 5 minutes and nobody from their staff walked up to us to ask if we were helped. There were quite a few staff members that passed by us and we were totally ignored. Since it was our first time at this restaurant, I decided to walk up to the one at the cashier till and ask her if we seat ourselves or someone is supposed to help us. She seemed like she was trying to fix something in the till and answered with a quick no, we help you out. BUT she doesn't tell one of her staff to assist us..... So we were just standing in front of her for a few minutes, confused, not sure what to do...and then FINALLY a blonde lady from their staff team saw us and decided to ask if we were helped. We answered no, and she quickly brought us to a table at their back patio. Right off the bat, this place already gave poor service so I was really hoping the food will be MUCH better than their service. 

Boston Pizza at Ironwood Plaza

The other day Phil and I went out to eat at Boston Pizza. I haven't been to Boston Pizza in a while and it was nice to see that they have this new 10 for $10 deal going on. They have a full page of 10 dishes for only $10.00 each. They also have 3 dessert options for $3.00 each. 

Their interior is like any other Boston Pizza. Every Boston Pizza has the same interior style and theme so once you walk in, you automatically knew this was a Boston Pizza. Similar to what Starbucks and McDonald's do nowadays. Maintaining the same standard for the interior so its easier for consumers to recognize and remember.  

I was really tempted to get one of their pastas but when I saw their cover with their Thai Chicken Wrap, I knew automatically I wanted to try it out! It sounds like a healthy option too, so why not? The only thing I was scared about was the spice level. They had a flame symbol next to it but I thought might as well give it a try and see how it goes.

Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.

Hey everyone!

Last week, Phil & I went to Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. for the first time. We heard many great things about their handmade fresh pizzas and we were delighted that we finally had the chance to go try it out! They have two locations in Vancouver, one located in Kits and the one we went to is located on Main Street.  Their exterior front was decorated in halloween decor and their exterior front just gave off a sense of coziness to the place. Definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy a freshly made pizza on a cold, rainy day.

The waitress told us they host holiday parties, so if you were ever thinking of having a party and want to make your own pizza, this is the place. They allow you to make your own pizza hands on. It's fun, interactive and it's also a very cool experience!

The interior has warm, orangey walls, wooden tables & chairs & their light fixtures give off a warm lighting that makes you feel extremely warm and cozy.

Me n Ed's Pizza Parlor Revisit

Hey Everyone,

We recently revisited Me n Ed's Pizza Parlor, but this time in the Coquitlam location. Last time it was a take out order from the Highgate location in Burnaby, so we'll see how dining in is like at the Coquitlam location now.

This location's building is very similar to the Highgate one, as it's located next to a McDonalds as well, and the size of the restaurant is similar as well. 

Let's get straight to the food!

For starters, we had two orders of wings, BBQ and Honey Garlic. Their wings are pretty tasty and meaty! They come with celery sticks and I love celery sticks! We didn't get a photo of their wings but they're pretty typical wings. Pretty decent!

Now for the pizza:

Godfather

This used to be my favourite after last time I had their pizza. Eating it fresh in the restaurant was even better! The fresh tomatoes tasted so good on this pizza, and their crust is by far one of the best crusts in local pizza! It has a flaky texture to it and does not become rock-like even after reheating later on. This is a very good pizza, but the other 2 we ordered were even better!

Perogy

Pacifico Pizzeria Ristorante

Hello everyone!

The other day we went to Pacifico Pizzeria Ristorante with our friend. We actually wanted to try this place for the longest time but never got around to it. Our friend tried the desserts from this place before but never main course so he suggested to come here for dinner.

Parking is such a pain in this particular area. The easiest way is to park right below Scotiabank theatre but it's extremely expensive. The first hour was $5.00 and then after the first hour, every 12 mins was a dollar. I highly suggest just skytraining to this location because it is not worth it to park your car there.

When you first step in, there's high ceilings, long windows, & colorful red, yellow walls. Definitely has a very Italian feel to the whole interior. The whole interior made it very comfortable and you would just want to sit there, chit chat and have a glass of wine.

Our friend ordered the "Caprese Pizza" ($17.00) which contains sliced tomatoes, bocconcini, red onions, capers, mozzarella cheese with fresh pesto & basil on a garlic brushed crust.

Friends Comments: Love the thin crust, very soft but yet crispy. I love the fact it has simple ingredients but still comes off extremely flavorful and delicious.

 

Tap & Barrel

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

I started off my weekend going to Tap & Barrel with Phil on Friday. At first we were seated on the second floor middle section table, which was slightly TOO centre of attention for us so we decided to move ourselves up to the bar section. The first floor was already packed full of people so I was pretty glad we got seated on the second floor, so I can actually have clear conversations with Phil and still enjoy the ambience of the space and the food.

We got there a bit past 5pm so it was still pretty bright outside. Full length windows bringing LOTS of natural light in to the space and I love the interior with barrel decors and wooden bar tables. The Village buildings were built to LEED Platinum standards which was indicated in the bathroom stalls. There were signage indicating that they use rain water for toilets, therefore the toilet water may not always be clear. So if you end up using the washrooms in the area, you'll notice that all the toilet water is yellowish color, so don't freak out!

Phil ordered "Phillips-Blue Buck Ale" $7.00.
His thoughts: "Great taste, great beer! Will definitely order this again"

For me, obviously I ordered a Sangria (White Wine) $7.75.

Me-n-Ed's Pizza Parlor

Today I'll be talking about PIZZA! We actually ordered this on Valentines day and I totally forgot to blog about this, so here it is!

We ordered pizza from Me-n-Eds. Our ideal date always leans towards just chilling at home, movie & takeout! On Valentines day it was no difference!

We were thinking of where to eat for dinner before heading to a movie, and we thought of this restaurant that was recommended to us by a friend who had dined here recently. Since I had to go NCIX at Aberdeen anyways, dining here made perfect sense!

Hello 2015!

Hello everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MY FOODIE FAMILY! :)

I am still in shock that 2015 has officially entered into our lives! My break from school is soon to be over and my life as a student is going to be officially flicked on again. Despite the busy term that is coming up, me & Phil will still consistently post blogs from time to time. Thank you again for the full support & I wish everyone the best in 2015!

Pizza Hut

Last time I went to a sit in pizza hut was such a long time ago that I don't even remember how the food was.  I hardly order pizza hut, but I know that they only have pizza options and not much of an appetizer option. For sit in, their menu has more variety. This sit in pizza hut is located in Richmond near Richmond Public Market. Their parking area is not very big but I don't think the parking lot will ever max out. When we stepped in I noticed a huge difference in decor compare to wayyyyy back when I went there. The whole place has been renovated and the seatings were very comfy. There was not many people when we went, so the whole place seemed pretty dead.
