Five Guys Burgers & Fries - Park Royal (Ambleside)

Hey Everyone,

So we've been to Five Guys several times already now, and we've been to the downtown location already in Vancouver, but that was a disappointment so we were hoping the Park Royal location would redeem the franchise with their Canadian locations.

Ceili's Modern Irish Pub

Hey Everyone,

So lately I have been craving some sports bar food and after considering a few of the options in Richmond, we decided to go to Ceili's! I've been here before but this was Jess' first time so I was eager to see what she thought of it.

Shaughnessy

Hey Everyone,

A while ago Jess and I went to VanDusen Botanical Gardens to check it out, but we did not check out the restaurant that was there at the time. A little while later I was invited to lunch at the Shaughnessy restaurant, so it was a perfect opportunity to see how it was!

This restaurant is located as part of the VanDusen Gardens but on the side of the complex where their parking lot is located, so it is easily accessible, separate from the main lobby. They have a nice patio for the summertime, but we sat inside to avoid the bugs!

Their lunch menu isn't very extensive, which makes decision making a lot easier. I decided to go with a Seared Rare Albacore Tuna Burger $17.

Flying Beaver - Revisit

Hey Everyone,

Had lunch recently at Flying Beaver with Jess, her bro, and my colleague and good friend. We went on a weekday and it was pretty busy during lunch time so we had to wait for a table at first, although it wasn't long before we were seated.

They had a Monday special on Sleeman Original Draught for $4.56 per sleeve so I got one.

We then got to ordering our food, so without further adieu:

Tap & Barrel

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

I started off my weekend going to Tap & Barrel with Phil on Friday. At first we were seated on the second floor middle section table, which was slightly TOO centre of attention for us so we decided to move ourselves up to the bar section. The first floor was already packed full of people so I was pretty glad we got seated on the second floor, so I can actually have clear conversations with Phil and still enjoy the ambience of the space and the food.

We got there a bit past 5pm so it was still pretty bright outside. Full length windows bringing LOTS of natural light in to the space and I love the interior with barrel decors and wooden bar tables. The Village buildings were built to LEED Platinum standards which was indicated in the bathroom stalls. There were signage indicating that they use rain water for toilets, therefore the toilet water may not always be clear. So if you end up using the washrooms in the area, you'll notice that all the toilet water is yellowish color, so don't freak out!

Phil ordered "Phillips-Blue Buck Ale" $7.00.
His thoughts: "Great taste, great beer! Will definitely order this again"

For me, obviously I ordered a Sangria (White Wine) $7.75.
