Hey everyone!
Finally weekend and I can finally find some time to blog. After our one week vacation staying in Vegas and going back to work has been draining up all my energy because it's been CRAZY busy. As promised, the next few posts on our blog will be all dedicated to the restaurants we've tried in Las Vegas. I've noticed a lot of people go to Las Vegas but I don't see as many blogposts on Zomato as I would prefer. For Phil and I, we don't go club or anything so our main thing to do in Las Vegas was to relax and eat and get fat... but of course also find some time to workout :P
Vegas changes every several years because every single time when I go back, theres bound to be something different. This time around, the Shake Shack restaurant was opened at the New York New York Hotel. I was super excited because I've seen many photos on social media so I was super stoked to finally try it out!
So their ordering system is like a fast food chain, where you do the ordering at the counter and they give you a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready for pick up.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries - Park Royal (Ambleside)
Hey Everyone,
So we've been to Five Guys several times already now, and we've been to the downtown location already in Vancouver, but that was a disappointment so we were hoping the Park Royal location would redeem the franchise with their Canadian locations.

Red Robin - Guildford
Hey Everyone,
To celebrate my touch football team's second win of our season, since we were in Surrey, we decided to have lunch at Red Robin! Now aside from the downtown location, Red Robin has almost completely disappeared from the Vancouver/Burnaby/Richmond area, so since we were somewhat near one after our game, why not give this place a visit!
It took quite a while to get us a table as we had a group of 9, so the wait was much longer than the other smaller groups waiting for a table. The restaurant was quite packed to our surprise, as the Guildford Town Centre area has a bunch of other dining options as well.
When we were finally seated, the tables we were given made it quite squishy for the 9 of us, so we requested for another table to be added to our existing set, and they accommodated us without any issues. Off to a good start in the service department!
For drinks, I had to start off with one of my favourites from back in the day when Red Robin used to be outside Metrotown beside Boston Pizza, the Very Berry Raspberry Limeade $4.69.

Tap n Barrel - Revisit
Hey Everyone,
On a Friday night after a tough week at work, what better way to get the weekend started than by going to Tap n Barrel for some good food and craft beer? My buddies and I decided to do just that at the Olympic Village location.
We got there during the height of the dinner time rush, so we ended up having to wait for an hour and a half! The weather was beautiful and so was the location, so it wasn't the worst of waits.
Saw the A&W manager filming a new commercial while we were waiting as well!
When we finally got seated, we were seated in the first floor near the back of the restaurant just past the bar.

The Famous Warehouse
Hello everyone!
A lot of people who hangs around Granville during the weekends would probably know about this restaurant that is located right next to Caprice Nightclub called The Famous Warehouse. I personally don't club so I never knew there was this place until my brother told me a while back. He told me this place serves all food for only $4.95 per dish. I was always curious how could this be! Therefore, one night I decided to check this place out with my brother & Phil.
I recommend skytraining to Downtown because it's always difficult to find street parking and it may not be the cheapest way to go. I would say this place ain't too far from skytrain so it should be no problem walking here.
When we first got there, there was a fairly short line up but after a few more minutes the line up started to build behind us and we were so happy that we beat the rush. While waiting outside in the cold, I was peaking at the menus that were posted on the side to see what to order. They do have a big variety and I was still in shocked that everything on the menu was for $4.95!

Dineout 2015- Romer's Burger Bar
Hey Everyone,
Had lunch with my coworkers yesterday at Romer's in River District, the one on Kerr by Marine. We had no idea this restaurant was part of the Dine Out program as well, so this was a pleasant surprise! Normally the burgers don't come with any fries, but with the Dine Out menu, you get fries included, along with an appetizer and their mini donuts for dessert!
Here's the Dine Out menu:
It might be a little hard to read, but there are actually two options here, the $18 menu or the $25 menu. This is the second time I've been to this location, and the third time I've dined at a Romer's. After each of those two visits, I came out pondering why Romer's was considered as such a good burger joint by many of my friends. While the first two times weren't very impressive, I was hoping this third visit would change my opinion of Romer's.
I decided to start off with a Thomas Kemper Craft Brewed Rootbeer $4; no alcohol today!
This rootbeer was very delicious! The fizz isn't too strong, right on point, and the flavour is just so smooth! Definitely a must try for all you rootbeer lovers out there!
I ordered from the $18 menu, so for starters, I had the Tomato Basil Soup (normally $6.95).

Riverway Clubhouse
Hey Guys,
Went to Riverway Clubhouse for the second time now and this time we sat inside due to the weather being quite rainy outside. The first time I was here, we were able to enjoy their nice patio with a nice big umbrella at the table.
We had Crispy Calamari $11.95 to start. These were done differently than most calamari dishes we've had, but they were delicious!
This photo of the calamari and other photos other than the pulled pork were courtesy of my good friend and colleague Ricky! Check out his blog for random posts typed in ALL CAPS!
No drinks (mojito) ordered this time! Shocking!
I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich $14.50, which surprisingly is now off their menu online! Normally their burgers are very good, so I wanted to try their pulled pork sandwich to see how that was. The menu description of the sandwich did not mention any coleslaw, so I assumed there wouldn't be, but when the order came, there it was, coleslaw at the bottom of the sandwich! I am NOT a fan of coleslaw and definitely did not want it in the sandwich, but didn't bother mentioning it to the server as I was hoping it wouldn't be in there since they didn't mention it. They did add melted cheese to it as you can see in the pictures below.

Dockside Restaurant
Hey Everyone,
My first post on this blog so this is pretty exciting for me! I've been to several restaurants on Granville Island but I haven't tried Dockside yet so this was totally new to me.
First impressions of the restaurant were that it was very nice considering it was part of the Granville Island Hotel. You are greeted with a nice flame and fountain feature outside the hotel entrance. The restaurant is located at the back of the hotel lobby so it's not difficult to locate.
Since it was a nice and sunny day, we had lunch out on their very large patio. The patio consisted of a large cabana-like structure in the middle with several tables underneath, with many other tables around it, most with their own umbrella to provide shade. We were seated at one of the tables with an umbrella. The view and location really speak true to the name of the restaurant, as our view was spectacular from the patio overlooking False Creek.
Now onto the food! Our party ordered almost their entire appetizer list plus one pizza, which can be found on their menu online. We were very hungry!
Vegetable Spring Rolls $12
Don't mind the hands cutting into the spring rolls! (We were starving and couldn't wait to dig in) These were not bad, just your typical veggie spring rolls. Nothing special here, just a decent appetizer. Don't think they're worth $12 but most of their appetizers were around this price point.
Legendary Chili Squid $12

Dineout 2013- Fray
During the weekend limmerZ and I decided to go for Dine Out. We had a couple of places we wanted
to try out but the one we decided at the end was Fray! limmerZ's friend told him
that this place has amazing food and the atmosphere is awesome, so we thought we`ll
give this place a try! The restaurant is located on Fraser & a block or so
away from King Edward. If you head there during busy hours it would be very
difficult to look for parking. They don`t have back parking, only street.
So the main thing about this restaurant other than the food is
the BOARD GAMES! I always wanted to go to a place where they have tons of games
so it`ll be fun while we wait for food or while we eat. When you first enter
into the restaurant, you`ll notice the board games right away because they are
placed all around the restaurant. When we were seated, they also handed us this
play sheet that consisted of mini games, like connect 4 and drawing random
tattoos on this body. I took a picture of it! Check it out down below.
So
for appetizers, we got the Steak
& Mushroom Bites and Portobello Fries!
The Steak & Mushroom bites were my favourite! Super juicy
and flavourful! Also, considering it`s only an appetizer, it is VERY filling.
The Portobello Fries were very enjoyable as well. Never tried anything like it.
It`s a very unique idea how they fry up the portobello mushrooms. At first when
I saw the dish I thought it was chicken!

Destination: Las Vegas- Johnny Rockets
OMG! I just noticed I haven't blogged in 2 months already. It has been a busy 2 months. I apologize for being away so long. I just got back from Las Vegas today, just in time for new years back in home town Vancouver.
I just want to quickly blog about Johnny Rockets. I've heard many good things from limmerZ and he's always insisting to go every single time when we have a chance in the states. Finally this trip, we stopped by a Johnny Rockets and it was my first time trying it and I must say it was DELICIOUS.
There was a Johnny Rockets across from our hotel, I believe it was at Venetian? It was within a food court so there weren't any restaurant seatings, except for the bar seatings. I really like the theme of the restaurant, gives me this feeling as if I'm in Grease or something. LOL From the red seats to the mini juke boxes, I just really enjoyed eating there.

Fatburger
WOW! Super busy month so my blogs are a little behind so be patient because I have tons of places to blog about!
I just want to talk about fatburger real quick because there is a FATBURGER VOUCHER available! So for whoever that has not tried fatburger before this is a good opportunity to try it in a cheaper way! I will link the site down below for the voucher!
Anyways, limmerZ and I went to the English Bay location and the people working there are super helpful and friendly. We got our food to-go but you can either choose to dine in or out, up to you!

Wally's Burgers
I've never heard of Wally's until limmerZ suggested this place one day for dinner. It's located in Killarney square and the parking lot has lots of room so parking should be no problem. The interior is nothing fancy but I guess it has it's own little style to match up with the logo and all. They basically don't have any tables but wall table seating (If you know what I mean).
When I was looking at the menu, they have a wide variety of burgers to choose from and it seriously took me a while till I decided on what to get.

Original Joes
First time ever dining at Original Joe`s! It is an upstairs location on Cambie and Broadway, right across from the Skytrain Broadway Station. Very convenient to get to by skytrain but if you`re driving they have a limited of spots located behind the restaurant which is also pay parking. If it`s not a hassle I recommend skytraining instead.
Interior was nothing fancy but I love how they have a pool table section at the back! It is a great atmosphere to just chill with friends and have a beer.

Burgoo-Food for Comfort
My friends and I have never been to Burgoo before and we were always curious of how good it is, so finally we've decided to take a trip to one of their restaurants and try it out for once! We went to the West 4th location and parking is TOUGH. Especially when you're trying to save a couple of bucks by finding free parking, well let me clarify one thing.. It's almost impossible to find free parking. So I would recommend you guys to bring some spare change with you. Anyways, we were lucky enough to find parking right in front of the restaurant. When we stepped in to the restaurant almost every table was taken up but thankfully there were still several tables at the back available. We were escorted to our seats very fast.

Joey Restaurant- Broadway
This blog is long overdue but better late than never! My family and I went to Joey's for Mothers Day and it was a late booking so THANK GOD we were able to reserve a table at Joey's since I assumed it'll be super busy! Parking on Broadway is always tough and expensive, I was happy to see that they provided Valet parking at the front of the restaurant. So, we took the easy route and just valeted our car and the price for valet was around 8 dollars. It was a super sunny day and outside the restaurant just made me felt like we were in California or something and it was just such a good feeling because it made me felt as if I was on vacation! Love the outer layout of the restaurant!

Yaletown Brewing
Yaletown Brewing Restaurant is well known for their distinct beer. They have a wide range of different tasting beers, from a lighter beer for the ladies or a darker beer for the boys. At least one of their choices will satisfy your tastebuds.
When we got to the restaurant it was already really busy! It was a sunny day, so the patio was filled with people and the windows were down and there was laughter and chatting everywhere. I just really enjoyed this place! Also, there was actually a magician walking around the restaurant to big groups and did magic tricks in front for them! I was waiting for him to stop by at our table but he left :(
