Patisserie Fur Elise

Hey everyone!

The other day, my friend and I were planning to go high tea at the Shangrila Hotel but it was all fully booked so our next option was Patisserie Fur Elise. We were lucky enough that a table was cancelled last minute so we were able to get a table during that time slot. We were shocked how these high tea places get booked up so fast, so I highly recommend booking in advance before going. We parked our cars at the Pacific Centre Mall and skytrained down to Yaletown. From the Yaletown Skytrain station it took us around 8-10 mins to walk to Patisserie Fur Elise. It was a gorgeous day, so walking was not an issue. BUT after high teaing, we've noticed skytraining to Yaletown was actually not necessary and it would probably be faster if you walk from PC to here.

When we arrived, we thought the exterior was extremely cute. There were 4 of these "houses" in a row, none of them were used for residential purposes. All of them were commercial spaces and I thought it was just the cutest place for high tea.

When you first step in, on the right hand side is where you can buy their pastries/macarons for take out. They had such a cute display, I just wanted to buy everything there. On the left hand side were the stairs that led up to the second floor, which is where the high tea actually took place. They don't have much table, hence booking in advance is highly recommended.

These were the cutest pillows EVER! :)

Ramen Jinya

Hey Everyone,

My buddy told me about this place when we drove by before, so we finally got around to trying it. With tons of ramen choices in downtown, this one is actually away from the main group of ramen restaurants at Robson and Denman. The wait outside didn't look too bad either for a Saturday afternoon, so we put our name down and waited. You write your own name on the waitlist right outside their door.

After a not so long wait, we were seated inside by the centre oval "bar".

What's Shaken Milkshake Bar

Hey everyone!

Back with a quick blog about What's Shaken Milkshake Bar!

It is located on 586 Davie Street and my friend brought me there for an after dinner treat. I'm not much of a milkshare fan...since I don't really like milk to begin with, but he highly recommends this place so I decided why not.

Raw Canvas

Today's blog is for all the ARTEESTS out there who enjoy wine and paint. I cannot paint anything practical so mine was something more abstract. Unfortunately at the end of the day, no one gets what my painting stands for and they just think it's a mess. Despite the fact that my mother called my painting NOT art, I still had a great time with my friends. I love my painting because there was no main purpose, no rules, just a bunch of colours slathered on a canvas to release my daily stress.

So if you've never been to Raw Canvas, I recommend getting their voucher deals online. I think the most recent one just finished, so keep an eye out for future vouchers because it is definitely more worth it if you can get a deal out of it. So I got my voucher from Social Shopper and below is their menu specifically for this deal. Each person gets to choose their own plate: either cheese, meat, or mix. Also they have a choice of a 2 course wine pairing for $18.00. I need my wine while I paint, so I decided to try their 2 recommended wine pairings for the night.

The interior is extremely artsy, from the mesmerizing art works on the wall to the usage of different type of chairs placed around the restaurant, everything just works. The idea of "art" is obviously the whole point of this place and just spreading that across the whole interior just makes the whole place very welcoming and fun. We sat near the windows and they had this purple, flowery wall paper that is spread across that section, which I find very unique because it works with the space and it sort of breaks the whole idea of the white ceilings and the white walls, giving the whole area that extra kick of art.

DD Mau

Who loves Viet Subs?! If you do, then this place will shoot your tastebuds to heaven..! lol

I went in February when vaneats.ca had a voucher to this place. I saw many positive reviews on this place so I decided to go try it out with limmerZ. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the brother and sister who works there. The interior of the place is very modern, definitely not a typical viet place.

Our vouchers came with drinks, so we both got the honeydew smoothie. Extremely flavourful and I'm usually not a smoothie type of person but this was so good! The other option was the avocado smoothie, but I thought honeydew would taste a lot better.

The Flying Pig

For those who read my blog you guys should know I've been meaning to try out this place for a very long time. One day my friends and I decided to go there for brunch. The whole restaurant was nearly packed, but surprisingly we got a table fairly quick! Overall the restaurant itself is very small and the tables are extremely close to each other. Parking is tough like usual in Yaletown, but we skytrained there so it was no problem for us.

Yaletown Brewing

 Love Beer?

Yaletown Brewing Restaurant is well known for their distinct beer. They have a wide range of different tasting beers, from a lighter beer for the ladies or a darker beer for the boys. At least one of their choices will satisfy your tastebuds.

When we got to the restaurant it was already really busy! It was a sunny day, so the patio was filled with people and the windows were down and there was laughter and chatting everywhere. I just really enjoyed this place! Also, there was actually a magician walking around the restaurant to big groups and did magic tricks in front for them! I was waiting for him to stop by at our table but he left :(

Regional Tasting Lounge

limmerZ and I always look up for voucher deals online so we can try different places out. We got a 60 dollar worth voucher for Regional Tasting Lounge and we were so excited to give this place a try. Parking in Yaletown is always tough, with the tight lanes and the tight spots you really got to be careful when you park. Also there is no free parking; either pay parking or pay for valet. Overall interior design is very classy and fine dining. The entrance has an automatic sensor slide door which was pretty cool. When we looked at the menu the prices seemed decent and not overly priced. The price for the dishes ranged from 10-20 dollars. For a fancy place like this I expected the prices to be a bit higher but at the end I know the reason why. I was for sure fooled.

Hub Restaurant & Lounge

limmerZ and I went out on a triple date with our friends. At first we planned to go to Flying Pig for dinner but it was super packed and the waitress told us it'll be around an hour wait. So we decided to go for a stroll around Yaletown to see what catches our eye. There were many options in Yaletown so we weren't scared at all about finding a restaurant. At the end, we made our decision to go to The Hub Restaurant and Lounge. The inside seating area was packed so we had to sit out in the patio. It wasn't an extremely sunny day but they had heaters set up outside and also blankets provided, so we were warm and cozy. The restaurant style was very laid-back and casual, so it was perfect for our triple date.
