My buddy told me about this place when we drove by before, so we finally got around to trying it. With tons of ramen choices in downtown, this one is actually away from the main group of ramen restaurants at Robson and Denman. The wait outside didn't look too bad either for a Saturday afternoon, so we put our name down and waited. You write your own name on the waitlist right outside their door.
After a not so long wait, we were seated inside by the centre oval "bar".

Last week, Phil & I went to Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. for the first time. We heard many great things about their handmade fresh pizzas and we were delighted that we finally had the chance to go try it out! They have two locations in Vancouver, one located in Kits and the one we went to is located on Main Street. Their exterior front was decorated in halloween decor and their exterior front just gave off a sense of coziness to the place. Definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy a freshly made pizza on a cold, rainy day.
The waitress told us they host holiday parties, so if you were ever thinking of having a party and want to make your own pizza, this is the place. They allow you to make your own pizza hands on. It's fun, interactive and it's also a very cool experience!
The interior has warm, orangey walls, wooden tables & chairs & their light fixtures give off a warm lighting that makes you feel extremely warm and cozy.

Had a ramen craving recently so we decided to hit up G-men for dinner. Now G-men is located on Alexandra, so that undoubtedly means if you're going at a busy time like 7pm, you're going to have a bad time looking for a parking spot! Took me so long to find a spot, I ended up settling for street pay parking. Their lot at the back of the restaurant is packed full, and then some, meaning all those illegals parked in the driveways of the parking lot where there is no actual spot.
Luckily the rest of our group had already got a table inside, so I was able to join them right away. If you don't have someone grabbing a table ahead of time, the wait is likely half an hour or more!
My go-to choice for ramen is always a miso flavour broth, so I ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen $9.50 with added Ajitama (Marinated Egg) $1.50 and Butter & Corn $2.50.

The other day me and Phil were wandering around Ironwood specifically looking for either a sushi or a pho place to try out. Unfortunately one of the sushi restaurants were closed already so we ended up going to Pho 37. From the outside, you can tell it is a very small restaurant and it seems very dark, but the interior gave off a total different vibe. It is a very narrow restaurant but they utilized the space very well with booth and banquette seating and they have these big rounded light fixtures which really brightens the place up.

Doing a super short post today because I've been loaded with homework recently. The other day after driving to Surrey with my bro to do some errands, we ended up going to Congee Noodle House for lunch. It was a cold, chilly day in Vancouver and I was really craving for some good and cheap Asian food.
This restaurant is located on Broadway and Main. They have a few parking spots at the back but it's very limited. We went on a weekday, so there were plenty of spots at the back. Everything on the menu is super affordable and my whole family loves coming here for a simple and delicious meal.
I ended up getting a Wonton noodle in soup. (approx. $6.00)
The soup tasted great and the wontons are made out of real shrimp. It's an extremely simple dish but I love it. We ended up getting two dishes & ordered another meal on the side for my other bro. Total came up to approx. $19.00.
$20.00 bucks here can get you three filling meals and I highly recommend coming here if you are on a budget and want some great food to warm up your belly.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!!
It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I finally have time to blog! Yesterday we had to head down to Abbotsford for work related purposes and we were so happy that the weather was so gorgeous. After finishing up with business in Abbotsford, we decided to choose a local restaurant to try out. When we went through Urbanspoon, the ratings for O'Neills Home Cooking was very good, so we decided to give that place a try!
O'Neill's Home Cooking is located in Gosling Way. This place is really close to Duft & Co Bakehouse. At first glance, interior is rather dull and doesn't have much character but when we first stepped in, the host greeted us and knew right away we were first timers (I guess it's because I wasn't sure what to do when I first entered and looked rather confused??)! We were fully introduced to the menu by her and she was extremely friendly and helpful! Her service made me feel very comfortable in this place and definitely gave me a home vibe. Everyday they have different type of specials, yesterdays special was Potato leek & garlic soup & Shepherds pie.
At first me & Phil wanted to order two separate sandwiches so we can try different things but the host advised us that the sandwiches are HUGE! At first we weren't sure how big it'll be so we were pretty indecisive. After a few seconds of hesitation, a big man came over (aka. one of the customers) he came over and had to wrap up most of his meal and he was already sharing his with his buddy! After seeing that occurring, we finalized on our decision and just ordered one sandwich plus combo (additional $4.00, which came with soup & drink).
We decided to order "The Classic" which consists of Toasted golden sweet potato bun, black forest ham, cooked egg, cheese & mayo ($6.00)
The sandwich and soup was split between me and Phil so we both got a half sandwiched with a bowl of soup.
