Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.

Hey everyone!

Last week, Phil & I went to Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. for the first time. We heard many great things about their handmade fresh pizzas and we were delighted that we finally had the chance to go try it out! They have two locations in Vancouver, one located in Kits and the one we went to is located on Main Street.  Their exterior front was decorated in halloween decor and their exterior front just gave off a sense of coziness to the place. Definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy a freshly made pizza on a cold, rainy day.

The waitress told us they host holiday parties, so if you were ever thinking of having a party and want to make your own pizza, this is the place. They allow you to make your own pizza hands on. It's fun, interactive and it's also a very cool experience!

The interior has warm, orangey walls, wooden tables & chairs & their light fixtures give off a warm lighting that makes you feel extremely warm and cozy.

We went on a Monday night, so Phil got their Monday special: R&B Raven Cream Ale ($5.00)- A light bodied dark cream ale with subtle nutty flavours & hints of chocolate.

I ordered their Freshy pressed juice- Berry Green ($8.00)- Apple, Kale, Cucumber, Berries & Mint. It is definitely a healthy choice. The ingredients used were very fresh but if you are not used to drinking green juice, you may ask them to blend more berries & apples in it to sweeten your drink a bit more. They do not add additional flavouring or sugar.

For appetizer, we ordered their Bruschetta ($7.00) - Organic house baked bread, diced marinated vine tomatoes & parmesan. Phil & I loved this! The bread was crunchy and buttery, the tomatoes were extremely sweet and fresh, the overall mixture just paired perfectly with their house baked bread. Highly recommend ordering this if you are coming here!

We each got a soup. Phil got the Chicken Noodle Soup- House made broth, organic penne pasta, carrots, free range chicken & three herb pesto. Phil's thoughts: not your typical chicken noodle soup, this one has more ingredients than your usual chicken noodle soups.

I ordered their feature soup: spicy zucchini with tomatoes & fresh lime cilantro sour cream.
This soup has a similar texture to squash soup and the flavour is very exotic. It tastes nothing like zucchini to me. It really tastes like spicy squash soup and I enjoyed it very much. It paired really well with their organic flatbread.

We ordered one of their Traditional Flatbread Pizzas & one of their Artisan Flatbread Pizzas.

The first one we got was the Naturally Meaty Pizza (Reg: $16.00) - organic tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy certified organic ground beef, kale, italian sausage, shave red onions, roma Tomatoes, herbs & asiago.
This pizza was PACKED with ingredients and every ingredient complimented each other perfectly. All ingredients were fresh, the crust was crunchy, and the interior was soft and hot. This was my fave out of the two pizzas.

Our second pizza of the night was their Artisan Flatbread Pizza: West Coast ($14.00) - roasted garlic cream sauce, light mozzarella, red onions, capers, ocean wise smoked salmon, lemon horseradish drizzle & chives. The smoke salmon and the lemon horseradish sauce was to die for. This was one of the best flatbreads we've had. Phil LOVED this pizza and enjoyed it very much. Like I said before, all ingredients here are organic & fresh and it just made everything taste so much better. The crust was so thin but still held all the ingredients together.

Finally, it's dessert time.

Phil ordered their Warm double chocolate brownies ($7.50) - created with callebaut chocolate & served with house made vanilla ice cream.

This brownie was seriously the best brownie I've ever had! The exterior was crunchy and the interior was soft and chocolaty. I'm usually not a chocolate fan, but I absolutely LOVED this. I only had several bites of this since I had my own dessert, but I highly recommend everyone to go try out their brownie dessert. For $7.50, you get fresh whip cream, vanilla ice cream & two brownies!

For my dessert, I got their Baked Cheesecake with a Toasted Coconut Base ($7.50) - this was also very delicious. The graham coconut base was very different and tasted amazing with the cheesecake.

This restaurant focuses on great food, family & community. They use local organic flour & produce, organic meats & ocean wise seafood. Everything tasted fresh and it's a great place to come with family and friends.

We want to thank Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. for inviting us to their restaurant to try out their delicious food! Their service was amazing and attentive. Their food was fresh & tasty!

Enjoy!
