Cimona Cafe

Hey everyone!

The weather in Vancouver recently has been amazing and I'm not talking about today. For the past few weeks we've been getting alot of sunshine here in BC. During these days, nobody wants to stay indoors and one popular location to hit up is at Steveston, Richmond. AKA. Storybrooke, the place they filmed and WILL continue to film forever and ever "Once Upon A Time". One of the hit shows on TV and also my personal favourite TV show at the moment.

We were strolling around Steveston looking for a place to eat and we came across this restaurant called Cimona. I remembered my bro telling me about this place and how it has amazing deals and serves some amazing food. By the time we got there, majority of the tables were taken. Fortunately, there were two bar seats next to the window. We took it immediately and sat down.

It's a very small little restaurant and you can tell most are regulars. Many are seniors, having their morning coffee & looking at their newspapers. Others with kids, eating pancakes and enjoying their family time. It gave me a very comfortable and warm feeling sitting in there.

Hash House a Go Go - Las Vegas - The Linq

Hey Everyone,

On day 5 of our Vegas trip, Jess and I hit up Hash House a Go Go for lunch/dinner while walking around the strip again. It was our last day and with limited time left, we had to try and cross off more from our list of must try places in Vegas.

Check it out on our day 5 vlog below!

Slickity Jim's Chat & Choux

Hey everyone!

This week's weather has been pouring rain but that doesn't stop me from going out to get food to warm up my belly. I came across this little joint called Slickity Jim's Chat & Choux along West 7th. Walked in during lunch hours and was seated at the bar. They had two chairs along the bar with full visual of the back kitchen and cash desk. Not much of a view, so after a while, I moved myself to a much more comfortable seating with a view of outside. The one thing that drew me into this little spot was their signage outside indicating their lunch special: Chicken Pesto Quesadilla with any chosen side ($11.50).

Their interior is very antique chic. They had striped and polka table tops paired with different colored chairs throughout the restaurant. The bar area had chairs that reminded me of old salon chairs. They also had a lot of unique light fixtures.

Parking around this area is majority paid parking, unless you are lucky enough to find 2 hour free parking spots near the residential areas. Recommend car pooling with your friends if you are planning to come here for lunch.

They had quite a large menu for such a small space, but I was pretty set on the special of the day.

Grimm's Gourmet & Deli

Hey guys!

So the other day I went on a mini road trip to Joffre Lake with 3 of my other friends. It was approximately a 3 hour drive to Joffre Lake from Vancouver so we made several pit stops to take bathroom and food breaks. We stopped by Whistler around 8:30am and Subway was unfortunately closed so our next stop was at Pemberton, B.C. We were hoping there would be a Subway there but there were only a few shops within that area. We ended up getting sandwiches from Grimm's Gourmet & Deli. It's a local deli shop and it was pretty busy compared to other restaurants around the area. They had a lot of options on their menu and I ended up getting their 3 meat sub. We ate the sandwich when we arrived to the top of the mountain and it was just amazing. The view was great and the sandwich tasted great. Filled with meat and the veggies were fresh. It was a great option to bring to a hike. The 3 meat sub costed approximately $7.95 and it was an extremely filling sub for under $10.00.

I created a mini clip of our mini trip! Go watch us on Youtube, HERE!

Enjoy!

BierCraft

Hey Everyone,

While at a Remax Christmas event on Commercial Drive where our company Cherry On Top Designs had a gift basket up as a raffle draw prize, Jess and I walked around the area to look for a place to have lunch. We came across BierCraft, and since either of us have yet to try it, we decided to dine here!

The inside of it definitely has that tavern feel to it. The bar is right inside when you step in and runs towards the back of the restaurant. There are tv's at the bar, and also several tv's in the dining areas as well. We were seated at a window seat in the front right corner.

Their menu has quite the extensive beer selected, as expected from a place named as such. With plenty of beer available on tap, it was very hard to decide which one to try, so I ended up picking the flight of BierCraft Beer Sampler $10.

As you can see from the photo, going from left to right, we have the D'Hiven, Maiselsweiss, Salty Scot, and Resolution. They all tasted like what they looked like, except for Resolution. Resolution had this peculiar flavour that I couldn't quite put my finger on, and was quite weird; so much so that I didn't end up finishing it! My favourites in order would have to be 2>1>3>4.

For food, since this was basically brunch for us, I had the Waffles $11, and Jess had the Fish & Chips $13 plus a coffee $2.75.

Duft & Co Bakehouse

Hi everyone!

I am so happy to be the first to blog about this wonderful bakehouse located in Abbotsford. It is definitely a super far hidden gem for us Vancity ppl but I do recommend coming here if you are in Abbotsford!

For all the food items, I didn't keep record of how much each things cost...just because I was SUPER hungry and I felt like ordering everything there! but I can guarantee everything is affordable! All in total including coffee, it came to around $30.00 for both of us. It only came to $30.00 for us is because we ordered ALOT for two people. So don't be scared by that number.

Duft is the owner of this little bakehouse and I can tell immediately from him & his staff that this place has AMAZING service. Everyone was super friendly and full of smiles! Just brings joy to people in the morning!

So we ordered 2 ham & cheese croissants, a dozen donuts (half chai & half original glazed), one cinnamon bun, & I think the last thing we ordered was the apple fritter?

I always order ham & cheese croissant at school and it costs me around the same price as this one and I can guarantee there is a HUGE difference. We bought the food home to enjoy and our drive back was approximately 45-50 mins and I would assume the food would not be as great but OMG it was still ON POINT!

The ham & cheese croissant was SUPER crunchy on the outside and SUPER soft on the inside & the meat inside is not those cheap ham, it was stacked with deli ham! Great quality for the money you pay for.

Sophie's Cosmic Cafe

If you're a breakfast person then you have to come check this place out! Sophie's is located in West 4th, so parking is pretty difficult. It's a very busy street so it'll be hard to find parking but I can guarantee this place is well worth it. The interior is very laid back, old fashion and sets a very comfortable atmosphere. They had a lot of old toys laying around as their design. I found that pretty cool because there's so many things to look at around the restaurant. I saw this very old m&m dispenser that my mom owns as well.

Destination: Victoria- Ferry

While on the Ferry ride to Victoria, limmerZ and I decided to grab some breakfast. The food on the Ferry is pretty pricey for what it is actually worth. So we've decided to get one breakfast meal to share.

We got the 'all abroad breakfast' $10.49

It was pretty average, nothing great. I would suggest to eat something before hand or bring your own food for the ferry ride!

The Flying Pig

For those who read my blog you guys should know I've been meaning to try out this place for a very long time. One day my friends and I decided to go there for brunch. The whole restaurant was nearly packed, but surprisingly we got a table fairly quick! Overall the restaurant itself is very small and the tables are extremely close to each other. Parking is tough like usual in Yaletown, but we skytrained there so it was no problem for us.
