Hi Everyone!
Today I'll be talking about PIZZA! We actually ordered this on Valentines day and I totally forgot to blog about this, so here it is!
We ordered pizza from Me-n-Eds. Our ideal date always leans towards just chilling at home, movie & takeout! On Valentines day it was no difference!
Phil ordered the Godfather- (S) $15.50
It consists of blend of garlic, herb and tomato sauce, pepperoni, diced tomatoes, a generous hit of Parmesan and Romano cheeses, topped with basil and oregano.
He was IN LOVE with this pizza. I tried one slice and I must admit this is just fantastic! It was extremely cheesy, full of toppings and the crust was extremely soft and baked to perfection!
We would definitely order this pizza again!
I was trying to eat a bit healthier that day therefore I went for a gluten free pizza (approx. $11.50). It only comes in one size: 10.5". There is a variety of toppings you can choose from, but the ones I ended up going for are the following: Smoked Salmon, Mushrooms, Spinach & Pineapples. It's a weird combo but I love each one individually so I thought why not put it on the pizza and give it a try!
My first impression of this pizza was that it looks delicious & smells great! At the end, I was actually completely disappointed. The crust and bottom layer is extremely hard! I felt like I was biting into a overcooked, burnt cookie. It was extremely hard to bite and the flavor was just not working for me. The combination of what I decided to put on it was just weird, so I would not go for these same things again but the over crust was just HARD. I was extremely disappointed with this gluten free pizza and will probably never order this again.
Service: N/A
Food: 3/5
Price: $-$$
It was a completely 50/50 for me so I will definitely go back and order different items to try! I just don't think the gluten free pizza is worth trying!
Enjoy!

I can't speak for the gluten-free pizzas but I love the regular crust versions. My favourite is the Gangster, however instead of the mushrooms I have them substitute some sweet cherry peppers instead, which makes for a really nice spicy/sweet flavour.
ReplyDeleteI find Me-n-Ed's thin pizza crusts to be very unique as they are very light and flaky hot out of the oven but tend to get heavy and chewier quite quickly as they start to cool. For that reason I always prefer to dine in at the restaurant, when they are at their best. That said, judging by the volume of take-out I see going out the door, I think I'm in the minority..
By the way, you might want to check out their daily specials to save some money. Thursday is Italian night, with all the Italian pizzas (the Godfather, Gangster, Spicy Tuscan and Margherita) all being discounted several dollars, depending on the size that you order.
Oh sweet!
DeleteThanks for the suggestions! I will definitely drop by on a Thursday to try out some of their specials. I know overall their pizzas are good but didnt expect the gluten free pizza to be so terrible.
Have a great day!
