女煮人/ 聊Dry男 Cook Your Life- After Thoughts

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to Domoiscraving! Today's blogpost will be slightly different from our usual. We usually just talk about food but this post will be about the Cook Your Life & Mechat Show that happened last week. If you read my blogposts frequently, you may have noticed I did a preshow blogpost about this event.

I want to thank Gateway Theatre for inviting us to this show and really engaging us in a whole new level of food involvement. Phil & I will move in together in a few years so going through this whole show was an eye opener. I love eating food but I'm not the best at cooking. I've been teased by my family multiple times saying I should just stick with eating out.

I usually don't go to these Live Stage performances and I think it has to do with my generation. We were brought up with televisions by our side, so Live Acts were never really on our mind. When we got this invite we thought "hey, lets just go and see what it's all about!" We went with minimal expectations but I must say they did a SUPERB job on stage.

Soho Tea Room

GOOD MORNING FELLOW FOODIE LOVERS :)

I\m currently drinking milktea and ate rye toast with cheese! YUM! While eating I decide to blog about where I ventured out last night. Since it was friday, limmerZ family and I went out to this new restaurant on Cambie called Soho Tea Room. At work I heard people saying its a mixture of hong kong style cuisine & taiwanese food. I love both styles so I was pretty excited to see how good this place is. Parking could be a pain in the butt if you go during busy hours. They have a parking lot at the back but its VERY tight and small.  Apparently this place is owned by the same people who owns Flo Tea Room. I guess that's why the font of their logo is very similar. I remember Flo Tea Room being on Granville and the food just got worst and worst each time. So after hearing about this relation between the two.. my excitement went down the drain.

We started off with several drinks. Mama Lim got the Taro Slush (I believe it was $4.00). limmerZ and I got the usual, honey milk tea to share ($4.00).

limmerZ and I both agreed that the honey milk tea was not milky enough. It had more of a tea flavor. In conclusion, we thought the honey milk tea from Bubble World beats this bbt by a whole lot.

Rhino's Kitchen Restaurant

Who remembers the "Old" Aberdeen from back in the days? I DO!!!!

Before the newly built Aberdeen existed, there was an old Aberdeen. I was fairly young back then but I still vividly remember the Rhino's Kitchen Restaurant. An upstairs location, always packed, side seats had the view of a bowling alley and the food was superb. After they took down the old Aberdeen, Rhino's Kitchen was gone for a good few years and now its back! After hearing about the newly opened Rhino's Kitchen Restaurant in Lansdowne Mall, I had to give this place a try!
